This domed comfort fit tungsten ring features an inlay of Tyrannosaurus Rex Fossil/Bone, Nantan Meteorite, NWA 5000 Lunar Meteorite, & Welo Opal with a Custom Blue Glow.
This item is handmade in the USA and crafted with a level of care, love, dedication, and attention to detail that is unmatched in mass produced rings you see online. Each ring, however very similar, is unique unto itself as no two rings are identical in markings and tint due to the natural fossils/bone used – we will ship you a similar ring with markings unique unto itself, however, images displayed are for reference purposes only.
We encourage you to learn more about these precious relics through your own research, here are a couple of links to get you started:
The Nantan meteorite fall might have been observed in 1516 during the reign of the Chinese Emperor Zhengde but it is difficult to assess if this event is connected with the pieces that were retrieved in 1958. The meteorite burst during passage through the atmosphere and the pieces were scattered in a strewn field 28 kilometres (17 mi) long and 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) wide near the city of Nantan, Nandan County, Guangxi (China). The meteorite was named after the city.
The LUNAR METEORITE NWA 5000 is one of the largest lunar meteorites ever found. It is exceedingly important in that it represents a previously unexplored part of the Moon and is the only Highlands Gabbro available for study. Originally, it weighed 25 lbs 6.6 oz. (11,528 grams.) Although the weight is tremendous, the internal structure and visual appearance of NWA 5000 is unlike any other lunar meteorite and is considered the Best-of-the-Best!
The contrast is incredible. The matrix looks like a moment caught in time as the impacting asteroid shattered solid rock on the surface of the Moon before ejecting NWA 5000 into space. This meteorite contains breccias within breccias, and the preferential orientation of clasts lends a unique 3-D appearance. Included in the stone are an unusually large amount of 4.5 billion year old impactor metal (nickel-iron). The exterior appearance is outstanding with well-preserved regmaglypts (“thumb-printing” marks from atmospheric entry), areas devoid of fusion crust that have been naturally polished by the Saharan ‘Winds of Time’ and generous amount of well preserved fusion crust. Northwest Africa 5000 has become legendary in the short period of time since its discovery in Morocco in 2007.
